 Programme summary 

Covid-19 is changing the way companies, teams and leaders interact with each other. This course looks at how teams work together, the core approaches that makes it possible and discusses the various shifts on the horizon. The course begins by discussing how comfortable each one is working from home and then talks about various approaches to working virtually. What is covered: getting started; major difference home and work; extending the “at home” office to feel like you are going into the office: structuring the day; choosing and setting up the work space; don’t just stay at home – get out; controlling escape activities; committing to daily tasks and to do lists; finding the most productive times to work; programming meetings for those times; focusing on one distraction; planning ahead; effective use of technology; determining your learning and work style; setting up expectations and limits when possible with those at home too; reporting back progress to the boss and team; interacting with others; preparing and taking breaks; picking effective start / stop times.

 Participants 

Any leader, manager or employee who sometimes, often or always works from home.

 Learning outcomes 

 At the end of the training, the participants will be able to: 

  • Focus on ensuring that they are working towards maximum intra-team effectiveness. 
  • Understand the key areas which need to be actively addressed to overcome the challenges of virtual team-working. 
  • Build intra-team trust and foster good relationships with other team members. 
  • Understand the virtual team leader’s expectations and strive to meet them. 
  • Develop a close and mutually supportive relationship with the leader. 
  • Ensure visibility within the team and in the eyes of the leader so that career prospects can be maintained.
